Winter/Spring 2025 Edition ~ The Logging and Lumber Business
Richmond, Vermont, was a major contributor to the Burlington area’s thriving lumber industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Early photos show Richmond’s hills bare of trees, as nearby lumber camps sent logs to sawmills in Richmond Village and Jonesville to be milled and shipped by rail to distant markets.
